So much to do....

I have a list about a mile long of all the things I'd like to get done in the next week (sitting on the computer sure isn't helping!!) One thing I can check off is taking Emmett's 1 year pictures. It's hard to believe that this time last year I was crying to Joe that I was nervous about being a mom. Now I can't imagine my life any other way! He's getting sooo good at standing on his own. He can say "mama", "dada", and "daisy". Any time you ask him something he shakes his head no. LOL He is just amazing :)

Family Fun Day

What a beautiful day we had today! It was around 86 and sunny. Hurricane Earl took the humidity with him. Thanks Earl! We've been to the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium a few times but today was by far the best. Emmett was so interested in all the animals... and they were very interested in him also!

Hello Mr. Turtle
Standing on his own... because he's distracted of course!
How funny is this!? Our little crab :) lol

The otters are so awesome! He wasn't sure what to make of them. They were so quick they'd swim right up to him and he'd jump.

What a fun day! We can't wait to take him back :)

Where has the summer gone?

Well this has been one busy week. With all the hurricane prep and running around I feel like we didn't even get to do anything fun with Becky! Yesterday we sent her off to D.C. Here are a few pictures from her visit and send off. We were so worried that the storm would mess up her travel plans. Thank goodness the storm missed us!

First taste of soda... lol

A few weeks ago we took Emmett to the ocean for the first time! He LOVED it!

These two are just adorable together.

I love them so much <3 !

My name is EARL?

Hurricane Earl is on his way! We went to Walmart nice and early this morning in hopes of beating the crowds. Well thank goodness we did because they had sold out of water and had just gotten a shipment in!  In addition to what we have in the house here is our hurricane kit so far. We also have a charcoal grill which might come in handy. Some of these things might sound strange but were on the list we were handed while walking into Walmart (yes they were handing out lists!!)
  • 3 cans of fruit
  • 3 jars of fruit
  • 6 cans of soup
  • 3 boxes granola bars
  • 1 200' aluminum foil
  • 1 box of freezer bags
  • 1 box of 78 kitchen garbage bags
  • 3 cans of snacks for E
  • 2 large cans of Ravioli
  • 2 cans of bug spray
  • 2 loafs of bread
  • 1 jar of peanut butter
  • 1 box of pop tarts
  • 9 packs of salmon
  • 11 packs of tuna
  • 3 gallons of water
  • 2- 2.5 gallon containers of water
  • 1 propane lantern with 2 propane tanks
I'm making a list of what else we might need in preparation of tomorrow. Being about 30 minutes from the coast we are praying that the rain and wind won't be to awful. The flooding is what we have to watch out for. No worries though friends or family!!

Emmett adores his daddy! Every time Joe tries to get ready for work E is right there helping dad. Here are my loves :)
